Grant Information

There are opportunities to acquire the right software and technology you need to help your agency improve officer safety, fight crime, and prepare you for whatever the future may hold…

Between the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) alone in the past two years more than $4.4 Billion has been appropriated to programs that can be used to procure Information Technology, Identification Technology, Communications Technology and more. Knowing how to obtain information and apply for these grants can mean the difference between streamlining your operations with state of the art technology and continuing to struggle with an antiquated system.

Year after year, DOJ grants such as the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG) and DHS grants including the State Homeland Security Grant Program provide funding to agencies across the country that act fast and meet the often-long list of criteria. But, agencies can improve their odds of receiving this vital funding by taking the right measures, including:

  • Maintaining relationships with their State Administrative Agency (SAA) to stay on top of state funding opportunities
  • Acting quickly as many grants are highly competitive
  • Making sure the agency’s idea fits within Federal, state and regional priorities, and will also benefit surrounding agencies
  • Demonstrating strong fiscal accountability and the ability to show effective use of the funds
