New World Systems adds another Best Place to growing customer base of innovative local governments

The Village of Mount Prospect, Ill. selects New World Systems as best technology and solution partner

Troy, Michigan - Thursday, February 18, 2010

Recognized by BusinessWeek.com as “The Best Place to Raise Your Kids” in 2008, the Village of Mount Prospect has selected an industry leader to help them streamline business processes and enhance service to citizens. The Village has signed a contract to license New World Systems’ integrated Logos.NET® Public Administration suite of applications on the Microsoft.NET™ platform. New World will provide an enterprise-wide solution that will improve access to financial data and empower citizens with online communication and access to information.

Seeking a way to upgrade their technology and gain additional capabilities, the Village of Mount Prospect formed a steering committee to conduct an extensive evaluation of available solutions and vendors. The Village wanted to replace many of their current systems with a single integrated solution that would be easy to use and improve reporting and data sharing between departments. After a thorough review of numerous vendors, an in depth RFP, software demonstrations and visits to other municipalities, the steering committee and many other members of the Village staff found New World Systems’ integrated solutions, technology and R&D direction to be the best solution by far for the Village.

“During our evaluation, it was easy to distinguish New World Systems from the other vendors by their use of current technology,” said Mike Dallas, Administrative Analyst. “We could immediately tell the Company is innovative and forward thinking by the way they leverage resources and technology we use every day, such as Microsoft Outlook and Excel. From our extensive reference checks, we discovered this commitment to current technology continues to be New World’s business philosophy, making them the perfect partner for the Village of Mount Prospect.”

“Intelligent and sophisticated communities such as Mount Prospect are becoming more adept at recognizing software vendors who have merely put a new looking front-end on very old technology” said Mark Prevost, Vice President of Marketing for New World Systems. “New World’s ability to deliver such outstanding functionality, integration, efficiency. business process work-flow, and future growth stems directly from the investment we’ve made to use the most advanced technology throughout every part of our solution”.

New World will provide the Village of Mount Prospect with Logos.NET Financial Management, Payroll and Human Resources, Utility Management, Community Development and eSuite software developed in-house using proven Microsoft.NET™ technology, industry-standard Windows® Server and SQL® Server. The completely integrated applications and built in workflow will eliminate redundant data entry, reduce paperwork, and improve access to information and reporting for Village departments.

“Just as we hoped, New World’s solutions will eliminate the burden of multiple systems for us,” said Brian Simmons, Deputy Director of Community Development. “Because it is an enterprise-wide system and each application is totally integrated, we will have greater and easier access to data for reporting and be able to take advantage of electronic workflow instead of paper circulation. This will enable us to streamline our processes, do more with less, and make us faster in order to be more responsive to our customers.”

New World’s eSuite solution will also allow Mount Prospect’s population of more than 56,000 residents to conduct business with the Village at anytime via the web. New online options for citizens will include applying for and viewing the status of permits and licenses, looking up and paying for utility bills, entering service requests or complaints and more online. Additionally, eSuite will offer the chance for Mount Prospect employees and vendors to access information online such as benefit enrollment, time entry, invoices, checks and personal and company information.

The Village is looking forward to a long partnership with the Company and participating in New World’s industry-unique customer-driven development.

“New World Systems’ solutions are a great fit for our Village,” said Dave Erb, Finance Director. “And so is the Company. The culture of our organization is ‘Exceeding Expectations’ and there is a lot of recognition outside of the Village for contributions that go beyond providing core municipal services. New World Systems will help us further exceed expectations, and we will work with the Company so other organizations can also benefit from what we accomplish.”

“Aided by a leading consultant in the industry, Mount Prospect conducted an extremely thorough evaluation of the market and ultimately selected New World Systems as the best solution and long-term partner for the Village,” said Bob Lewis, Vice President of Sales for New World Systems. “We are thrilled to add the very progressive Village of Mount Prospect to our customer base. The addition of Mount Prospect and four other Illinois municipalities in the past 20 months further demonstrates New World Systems’ commitment to serving local governments in the State of Illinois.”

According to Lewis, New World Systems is the perfect solution partner for forward-thinking communities like Mount Prospect that receive special recognition. Plymouth, Minn., also a New World Systems customer, was recognized in 2008 by Money Magazine as the number one “Best Place to Live” in Money’s list of America’s Best Small Cities.
